Huckleberry is a good app. If you'd rather not pay for the premium tier, or you want a log your partner can use from any phone without installing anything, you can bring your whole history to Milk and Naps in about a minute. Nothing is lost and both apps keep working.
What comes across
- Feeds: bottles with amount and formula/breast milk/mixed, nursing sessions with side and duration.
- Sleep: every nap and night sleep with start and end.
- Diapers: pee, poop, both.
- Pumping with amounts per side, solids, medicines, tummy time and baths.
- Growth: weights, lengths and head measurements, plotted on WHO percentile curves straight away.
Anything the file doesn't describe clearly is skipped and counted, never imported wrong. You see the counts before anything is saved.
Step 1: export from Huckleberry
- In Huckleberry, open your child's Reports view and scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Export. Huckleberry emails you a link to a CSV file, one per child.
- Open the email on your phone and save the file (Files on iPhone, Downloads on Android).
Step 2: import into Milk and Naps
- Open milkandnaps.com on your phone, sign in with your email (no password, a 6-digit code), and add your baby.
- Go to Settings, then Import, and choose the CSV file.
- Check the counts ("412 bottles, 380 sleeps, 9 weights") and tap Import.
The file is read on your phone; only the entries are sent. Importing the same file twice adds nothing, so you can keep logging in Huckleberry for a few days and re-import when you're ready to commit.
What's different
- Free, for the whole thing. Growth charts, trends, the nap forecast, sharing with family. There is no premium tier.
- Nothing to install. It's a web app. Add it to the home screen and it behaves like one, including offline.
- Shared by default. Invite your partner, a grandparent or a nanny with a link. Everyone sees the same log and who logged what.
- No ads, no trackers, no selling data. Download everything as a spreadsheet or delete it whenever you like.
- What you'll miss: Huckleberry's SweetSpot sleep coaching is a paid, expert-built program. Milk and Naps has a simpler next-nap forecast based on wake windows and your baby's own pattern.
Coming from another app?
Milk and Naps also reads its own export, so a family can merge logs or move between accounts. If your app exports a CSV we don't read yet, email it to hello@milkandnaps.com and we'll add it.
Bring your Huckleberry history over, invite your partner, and keep logging for free.
Free, no ads, no trackers, nothing to install. Made by a dad for the 3 a.m. feeds.
